Over the years, I remember preachers saying that sinners aren’t having fun, they just think they are. Some of them must be, I suppose, or it wouldn’t be so rampant.
::::yawn::::
We are all sinners.
No Joke…
I mentioned
yesterday that sin can be gratifying. I
wasn’t joking.
Justification…
There is no
way for a Christian to justify sin. If
you make the choice to do it, own it.
Make amends where you can, and ask forgiveness. Try a little harder to make better decisions.
The Biblical
book of James…
Oh my (not
so) goodness! If ever I need to be
reminded (which is every day) how I should act since I do proclaim to be a
Christian, all I need to do is read the five chapters of James. I can’t even get past the first one without
realizing I need much work!
James 1:26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle
his
tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. (NKJV)
Oops.
Yeah, already messed that up today,
and it’s early yet…and that’s only
the first chapter!
Confession: When someone does something that makes me
mad, or embarrasses me…I am not slow to anger.
And I’m even slower to forgive.
And if that is not enough, I like to make sure that the offender knows I’m
unhappy with them! Sarcasm is a weapon
I use, so is silence. And I’m wrong when
I do it, but for some reason I feel gratified. (Can't wait until the 'S' entry, I can talk about "self.")
I think I
need to go read the book of James again.

Johnny Cash...I miss him. (Nashville, Tennessee) |
There's not much I can say about the post because of the content, but that is more down to me than the post. I do like the natural history pics again, but I've never been a Johnny Cash fan, so once again, a mixed bag of emotion from me on this one.
ReplyDeleteNot much for country, eh? I'm in the deep south...it's pretty much the law, we have to like country music. lol
DeleteThat is some mural of Johnny Cash. I like your thoughts about justification and sin; and every time I think I am able to justify something, I really can't, LOL. James, yes, a favorite book of mine from the Bible; so much wisdom in 5 short chapters.

My photo doesn't do it justice. Love me some Cash.
DeleteI could have made that same confession. I have "hair trigger" items that make me instantly angry, but I neither apologize nor forgive quickly, and I use sarcasm & silence (and slamming doors) to make sure there is no question about where I stand. It's not pretty...at all. I don't like it in myself, but I do it all the time.
ReplyDeleteYeah...it's not pretty. Maybe we get some credit for recognizing it (I hope).
DeleteYour posts are always so thought provoking and right on target. I can say that I am human, too. I understand; I also try to better myself as a human. I love that you included Johnny here. We are big fans. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteJohnny was my first crush.
DeleteI read James regularly. It always stings.
ReplyDeleteEvery time!
