A to Z ~J~ Justice

Justice
Clouds and darkness surround Him;
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
Psalm 97:2

The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
Psalms 103:6

For the LORD loves justice,
And does not forsake His saints…
Psalms 37:28

He loves justice so much, it is mentioned over 500 times in the Bible!

Solomon didn’t ask for wisdom as so many people think; he asked for an understanding heart to judge the people of God.  The request pleased God so much that he not only granted him wisdom such as no one had before or after him, He also gave Solomon riches and honor like no one else had in all of Solomon’s days.  (1 Kings 3:5-14)

The Lord was displeased when there was no justice (Isaiah 59:15)

If you study justice in the Bible, you will notice that after justice is mentioned, a pattern of commandments to look after the widow and the orphan, to help the poor, to pray for the sick, and bring light to those in darkness.

After forgiving those how have hurt you, ask God for justice…keep asking Him, and wait for it.  While you’re waiting, help others. God’s compensation for what you’ve been through far outweighs the hurt you suffered.

  1. I think it would be neat to see Jerusalem some day; wanted to in my youth; now just not sure I have the energy to do so.

    Good reminder to pray to have justice.

  2. Loved reading this today. I was just talking to my students about this. Sometimes I get caught up in all the evil of the world. It makes me angry. But really I have to remember to pray, and seek. I have to remember that God's justice will prevail. Thanks for this, today!
