A Thought For Thursday

When we give ourselves fully to Jesus, the battles we face in our minds are much more easily won!  We have dominion over our thoughts through daily renewal of the mind in God’s Word.  We are free through Christ, and there is no power on earth able to take that from us!  Rest in all his promises; reach out, claim them, and lay fear at the altar.

Remember that it is He who is in control
and not the powers on the earth.

  1. Amen!!! We need to remember this, almost print it out and carry it with us, so that when we are subjected to those thoughts we all have, we can remember greater is He that is in us that he that is in the world.

  2. In a few days it will have been 40 years since I met Jesus.
I say I "believe" every word in the Bible. I think I do. Til it's tested.
THEN I find out which parts I'm still learning to trust in! This is one of those truths that is hard for me to totally surrender to... that He IS really in total control. Part of me believes it, yet part of me clenches in fear and has to surrender all over again.

I guess it goes back to that love relationship, that lets me surrender in trust. Easy to say, not always easy to do. :-)

So happy that your Dad is doing well. Even happier that he is in God's hands. I hope you are doing well, too. I suspect this whole thing has pulled you closer and even more snugly into His arms.

    1. Yes, my dad is getting better each day. Today he walked the hall, but I think he did too much, he is worn out and not eating tonight. Hopefully, tomorrow, he will do at least that distance and it won't wear him down as much. God has been very merciful...I have been so humbled by his great love.

I guess, for me, I definitely believe all the Bible says, but I don't understand some "whys" about why I don't see what I think the Bible is saying. And all the horrid things going on, I have no answer for...but still I believe. Some days it's easier to trust than other days, and I'll be honest and say there are times I think to myself, "How do I learn to trust a God who does allow bad things to happen?" There is an answer, but I don't always have have a good grasp on it.

That would be a good FB question...see how others trust God.

    2. Yes, I understand what you mean. I too believe it all, in my heart; I choose to believe it's true. But I guess what I was trying to explain was that my 'feelings' don't alway cooperate with what I say I believe! So I have to just let go and surrender, even though I may not understand or feel like it. Or even pout and stamp my little foot at not getting MY way. ;-)

Oh sure, ask Facebook about trusting in God. ROFL... now THAT would be one controversial thread! If you do that, be SURE to let us know how it went... if you get out alive, mwa ha ha ha

    3. Haha...I may very well ask. I think the key is exactly what you say, we must choose to believe, to have faith even when we don't see what we want/think we should.
