About Being Dismayed, Dogwood Blooms and Doves

I was looking for some comforting scripture to send to my cousin, who is going through the biggest trial of her life.  I found something for her, and as I sat there staring at the words on the page, I wondered if there was something for me, too.   I can't explain where my head and heart is lately, but my mind has been so heavy.  As I stared at the page, my eyes focused on this scripture:

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

I zoned in on “dismayed” and I realized that’s exactly what I am.  Dismayed.  It was very comforting to me to know that God understood exactly what I was feeling, and He let me know He’s always here for me.  For you, too.

  2. :) That morning dove seems to have been as interested in what your doing as you were. )

You know, that verse. I do understand the, and have experienced, the lord in that verse. I do. Yet, sometimes...when I'm on the outside looking in at those words..."don't be afraid for I am with you"...well, it's not a promise that senseless tragedy won't come your way, is it?

It's only a verse that someone who knows the Lord, and knows that it's saying-->"No matter what happens, no matter how tragic, I am still with you and will get you thru it. This tragedy is not bigger than My ability to see you to the other side."

"I never fault a person who syas, "If God is with me, why did this happen?" Never. Because I know that I wouldn't stand by and I let anything happen to my grandchildren while I was with them. I'd throw myself between a gunman and them. I would die to save them.

And that's exactly what Jesus did. Isn't it?

Happy Easter to you and your family. I hope it will be a peaceful joyful one!
