~R~ In the Rubble of Failure

Reflection
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way. Though he fall,
he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
Psalm 37:23-24

When God looks at us, He sees us as how He
intended us to be, even when we are standing in the
rubble of our failure.

  1. :) Loved this. :)

    A few decades ago, I struggled with a depression that included strong suicidal ideation.. During that time, one of my favorite scriptures was from Micah and went something like this: Rejoice not against me, O my enemies, for though I fall, I shall arise. And, though I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

    I memorized it back then and would often repeat it to myself as I sat on the couch...trying not to die. (Well, that sounds pretty dramatic, doesn't it? :} But it is the truth of that time.) On occasion, that verse still comes to my mind.

    This post reminded me of the steadfast and strong love of the Lord, even in our failure. Thanks for this. My little testimony above may not sound very happy, but it brings me great assurance. It reminds me that God is strong enough to hold me. No matter what.

    1. Deb! So good to hear from you! That Micah 7:8 is a wonderful verse to always keep tucked away...

      Your testimony is powerful, and I appreciate you sharing it.

  2. Loved the church in Russia! What is really cool about God is when we are in that rubble, he will gently start rebuilding us if we allow him to.
